Peak season:

Trying to determine the peak season of North America is virtually impossible due to the sheer size of the continent. Los Angeles for example sees pleasant weather all-year round and enjoys a steady stream of tourism across the year whereas Toronto is best from June to October. There is the Caribana in either late July or early August which is North America’s largest Caribbean festival but also drives up the price of flights to North America. Atlanta sees more tourists from March through to May and September to November. Ultimately you’ll need to decide where in North America you want to travel to and then you can figure out the peak seasons of that particular place after.

Off season:

Again, the off season is as difficult to predict as the peak season unless you know where in North America you are visiting. A lot of American States see temperatures plummet during the winter months of December to March which can stop a lot of tourism but also provide you with the cheapest flights to North America. Canada on the other hand sees winter sports thriving during the same months and cheap flight tickets there are very hard to come by. Mexico sees a lull from December to February although tourists do still visit as temperatures don’t go too cold. It can get very windy around Cancun though so bear that in mind before you book your flight tickets.

When is the best time to book a flight to North America?

Regardless of where you are planning to visit you’ll want to make sure your flights to North America are secured as much in advance as possible. Aim for four or five months ahead of time to secure the cheaper flight tickets and to get better deals on your accommodation. If you have the luxury of being flexible then you’ll find the cheapest flights to North America, although being too flexible might leave you sitting somewhere in Guatemala when in reality you wanted to be in Las Vegas so it can help to have an idea where you want to be. You can find the cheapest flights to North America from November to February but this will vary from country to country.

Which day is cheapest to fly to North America?

The cheapest day to fly to North America is usually Wednesday. At the moment, Sunday is the most expensive.

What time of day is cheapest to fly to North America?

Flights in the morning are typically the cheapest time of the day to fly to North America. Flights in the evening are usually the most expensive.

Which airlines operate flights to North America?

There are many different airlines that provide cheap flights to North America due to the vast size of the continent. Firstly you’ll need to narrow down where exactly you want to travel to and then you can consider which airlines are at your disposal. To name a few though, you’ll have British Airways, Aeromexico, Air Canada, Lufthansa, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Delta. Chances are you’ll want to go with whoever offers the cheapest flights to North America, although sometimes it can be better to pay a little extra to get a more pleasant journey on long-haul flights. Virgin is a top airline with comfortable seats and high-service and British Airways provide complimentary snacks and drinks onboard their flights to North America. Consider all of your options based on your budget and location you’re travelling to and see who benefits you the most.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

Los Angeles:

The airport in Los Angeles is 30km away from the downtown LA. If you’re happy with free transportation then you’ll want to take a free shuttle bus directly from the airport. You’ll want to take either shuttle G or C, although C does take you to the Metro bus centre so depending on your ultimate destination, C could be a better option. Taxis are very expensive, especially when you could travel to free, however they will take you directly to your hotel. Once you’ve booked your cheap flights to North America it’s worth trying to find accommodation in either Hollywood or Santa Monica as this is where most of the nightlife is. Downtown LA can be a little quiet in comparison.

Mexico:

Mexico City’s International Airport, or the Benito Juarez International Airport as it is also known, is roughly 13km outside of the city. There are no public bus services available from the airport although you can pre-arrange a shuttle once you’ve booked your flight tickets. The cheapest way to travel would be to go just across the parking lot to the metro station. You’ll want to get on line 5 and then change over to line 1 at Pantitlan until you reach Insurgentes. Lastly you could get a taxi from the airport. Make sure to get a pre-paid one from the Transportacion Terrestre booth at baggage reclaim. It’s also a good idea to lock your doors whilst travelling to avoid any potential issues.

Toronto:

For those travellers on a budget, you’ll want to get the ‘Rocket’ service to the Kipling Subway Station. From there you can ride the subway to wherever it is you are hoping to end up. It’s the cheapest option of travelling which can be a welcome choice after you’ve splashed out on your flights to North America. You could also take a coach service at around $26 per journey. It isn’t cheap but compared to a taxi it’s a great option to consider. Taxis should be avoided like the plague unless you’re rolling around in money and have more of it than you need. A taxi from Toronto airport to the centre will cripple your wallet so avoid it where you can.

Atlanta:

Once your flights to North America drop you off in Atlanta you’ll want to figure out how to get to your hotel. A quick option is to get the MARTA train which operates from directly from inside the airport all the way to the centre. If you don’t have the luxury of time however you might consider taking a taxi. They aren’t cheap but if you can split the fare with a friend they can be a lot more appealing.
