A flight to Kosovo from the UK will take around 3h 10m if it is direct. However, some factors will affect that time. One is whether there are any stopovers on the flight. A single stop could add two hours or more. Multiple stops can add even more time, but may make air travel more affordable. If you’ll be flying to Kosovo from the UK, you’ll most likely be leaving from a London-area airport, such as Luton or Heathrow. There is only a single international airport in Kosovo, which is Pristina International Airport, located in the city of Kosovo.
The only city to offer a direct flight to Kosovo from the UK is London, and the only airport to do so is Luton. However, there are numerous other cities that allow flights to Kosovo from the UK with one or two stopovers, including Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh. While a direct flight will take just over 3h, adding a single stop can move that time to 4h 45m or more. Two stops will increase the flight time up to 8h 55m in some cases.
There are only a few ways to get around in Kosovo. There are no domestic flights and there are no water taxis. However, you can rent a car or motorcycle and drive yourself. Note that if you do hire a car or motorcycle, European Green Card insurance is not valid. It is also not possible to drive cars hired in Kosovo travel to Serbia or vice-versa due to the tensions between the two regions. The bus system is well developed and affordable, but it can be crowded and time-consuming, as well. There is a train service that connects Pristina and Peja and Skopje, but it is not well regarded.
If you will be visiting Europe’s newest country, there are quite a few things you might wish to do. One of those is to visit the Newborn monument erected to commemorate the nation’s recent independence in Pristina. You may also enjoy visiting the Visoki Decani Monastery, Kalaja Fortress, or the Gracanica Monastery. Germia Park and the Rugova Mountains are also well worth a visit.
