As a tropical destination, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo has some sweltering times of year with temperatures soaring to 30 degrees Celsius. Kinshasa also has some times that are extremely wet, generally the months of March, April and November, so if possible, try to book flights to Kinshasa in the “shoulder” seasons for the best sightseeing conditions. Between May and September, the city will be cooler and less humid, and discounted accommodation and cheap flights to Kinshasa will be found in April and October.

Kinshasa is a bustling city with plenty of attractions, restaurants, and shopping choices. One great thing about the Dominican Republic of Congo is how the country has preserved its wildlife. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Kahuzi-Biega National Park is an unforgettable place to visit. It has various hiking trails and draws outdoor adventurers from all over the world. In this park, visitors can see eastern lowland gorillas, African elephants, and antelope, among others.
Downtown Kinshasa is a highly populated place booming with artistic inspiration. The city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, and the craft market is worth the visit. The Congo River runs right through the area, and visitors can take a boat ride. In the centre of the city, you’ll also find local cafes that offer tasty treats and delicacies.
Bonobos and the nearby lakes offer visitors a chance to get up close and personal with nature. The Bonobo Sanctuary and Orphanage is ideal for groups who want to meet these interesting and active creatures.
