Peak season:
The weather is generally warm and sunny throughout the year with the exception of a couple of months which sees some rainfall. Due to that most of the year is classed as a peak season making cheap flights to Accra quite difficult to come by. December is probably the most expensive month of the year for flights to Accra so make sure to secure your flight tickets well in advance if you want to visit then. March is the hottest month of the year which sees an influx of tourists fly into the country so you’ll notice bigger crowds than usual.
Off Season:
The rainy seasons are from April to mid-July and then in October. Generally you’ll find the cheapest flights to Accra then although don’t expect too much of a discount as tourism still exists quite strong, even in the rainy seasons. August is the coolest month of the year so you can expect a drop in tourists then, making cheap flights to Accra and deals on accommodation more likely. Whenever you intend to visit it’s still wise to book your flights to Accra in advance due to the real lack of an off-season.
If you want to visit over Christmas then make sure to book your flight tickets at least two or three months in advance. There are a few different airlines that provide flights to Accra so you can either choose by price, preference of airline or a bit of both. British Airways, Iberia, Egypt Air and KLM are the major players, although there are others such as Air Canada.
